## Baseball (Natural) History
Baseball is an American game born from the English sport of Rounders. The first recorded game resembling baseball was played in New York in 1846. The game quickly evolved, with the Knickerbocker Rules codified in 1845 by Alexander Cartwright, laying the foundation for modern baseball. The National Association of Base Ball Players, founded in 1857, was the first organized league. Baseball’s popularity soared during the Civil War, as soldiers from different regions played and spread the game. The first professional team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings, was established in 1869. The National League, formed in 1876, and the American League, in 1901, became the major leagues, leading to the first World Series in 1903. Baseball became known as America’s pastime, deeply embedded in the nation’s culture. Iconic players like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and Hank Aaron became legends, breaking records and barriers. The sport has faced challenges, including the Black Sox Scandal of 1919 and the steroid era, but it remains a beloved part of American heritage, celebrated for its history, traditions, and timeless appeal.
