Pewnego piątkowego wieczoru, gdy Bogna wracała z pracy, nie podejrzewała, że ten dzień odmieni wszystko. Gdy otworzyła drzwi swego warszawskiego mieszkania, zawołała jak zwykle:

Cisza. Dziwna, ciężka cisza wypełniała przestrzeń.
Dziwne Powinien już być w domu pomyślała, kierując się do sypialni.
Gdy otworzyła drzwi, zastygła w bezruchu. Jej mąż, Marek, pakował w pośpiechu walizkę.
Marek Co ty robisz? wyszeptała, czując, jak ściska ją w piersi.
Wyprowadzam się odparł chłodno, nawet na nią nie patrząc.
Wyprowadzasz? Dlaczego? Co się stało?
To wszystko przez twojego ojca rzucił z irytacją.
Mego ojca? Co on ma z tym wspólnego?
Bogna nie rozumiała ani jego słów, ani tej sytuacji. A jednak na jej oczach rozpadało się małżeństwo, któremu oddała tyle miłości i cierpliwości.
Poznali się, gdy Bogna miała dwadzieścia osiem lat. Marek, starszy o osiem lat, był pewny siebie, charyzmatyczny, obyty. Wtedy wydawało jej się, że spotkała miłość życia. Rodzina, przyjaciele wszyscy powtarzali, że czas na ślub, że zegar biologiczny tyka. W końcu każdy adorator wydawał się potencjalnym mężem co zwykle ich odstraszało.
Lecz z Markiem było inaczej. Spotkali się w kawiarni w Warszawie dzięki koleżance z pracy, i od razu zaiskrzyło. Był czuły, uwodzicielski.
